About the Little Things – A Super Silly (Yet Highly Meaningful) Gratitude List #ThanksGLiving

If you have been following the eAmbassdors for a while you may know that have a hashtag blogging challenge every month. This month we are putting an emphasis on gratitude with #ThanksGLiving. Be sure to check out the rest of the team’s posts by using the hashtag.

P.S If you want to read my thank you letter to Glendon, be sure to check out last year’s post right here

This story starts at the same place as all great contemporary tales.

So at some point this weekend I found myself, as one does, aimlessly scrolling and tapping (and comparing), when suddenly I come across my friend (and former eAmbassador) Jasmin’s Insta story.

Those of you who know Jasmin, know, she is just a complete and utter ray of sunshine who is constantly preaching the importance of gratitude and positivity. And so in a totally “on-brand” move, she asked her followers “What small/seemingly silly things save your life on the regular?”

As the answers rolled in, I began to think about this question myself and started to compile a list of all the little things in life that I often see as insignificant but consistently make me oh so stupidly happy.

Now before I share this list with you, I am prefacing it by saying I truly went the “small and silly” route when picking these things. Nothing on this list is groundbreaking or life changing. Some of the items can be seen as shallow or materialistic, but I tried myself not to filter or judge myself when writing this list. Nothing is too “irrelevant” for gratitude.  If it is something that brings me joy, then it is something of value.

So without further ado here is my

I could keep on going, but I feel like this is a good place to stop for now (but maybe I do a part two?).

I’ve said it before and I will say it again, I find October to be one of the hardest months as a student. The allure of the fresh new school year is has faded away, midterms are looming, and the sweet release of Winter Break seems oh so far away. It’s easy to get caught up in the “blah” of it all, so I want to thank Jasmin for reminding to honour all the freaking amazing little things this world has to offer (and right in time for Thanksgiving – how à propos).

What are some of the incredibly silly things in your life that keep you smiling? I would love to know so please share in the comments.

Happy Thanksgiving!
